Here at GOSH we like to give back and pay it forward. We look for opportunities to support our local and global community. The children are involved in choosing charities and organisations that they would like to support and we do different activities and events throughout the year to raise money and donate resources to these charities. We are very proud to share these highlights with you:
Running For Premature Babies
We are proud to support Running for Premature Babies with our growing team of Educators who participate in the RFPB team in the half marathon & city to surf. We have also been privileged to volunteer at the annual kid’s run run. RFPB has a special meaning to us here at GOSH as a number of our children have benefited from the life saving equipment donated by RFPB. We are pleased to offer our ongoing support to Running for Premature Babies.
Houses For Cambodia
We are proud to share some photos and video from our collaboration with families to build a house in Cambodia for a rural family. Thank you to everybody that made donations to make this possible including the children who held bake sales & toy sales. To provide this opportunity for this family to have a culturally appropriate house that provides shelter and keeps them safe, warm and dry and contribute to the education of these children is an experience that we will never forget.
Sydney Children’s Hospital
We consider ourselves to be so lucky to have this amazing facility at our doorsteps. Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Starlight Foundation have supported many of our children and families and we enjoy finding opportunities to give back. Our GOSH Seniors enjoy raising money and personally delivering it to the hospital. We were lucky enough recently to have Captain Starlight take us on a tour and let us join in his afternoon game session in the Starlight Room.
Project Kindness
We are proud to partner with Project Kindness and support them in their mission to share kindness to those that need a little extra love. The children have loved putting together gift bags for World Kindness Day and Christmas with donations from families and hand written messages. Project Kindness is a wonderful social justice initiative active in our local community and we are delighted to work alongside them in doing our part to spread kindness in our community.
